A spinal injection intended to reduce inflammation around the spinal nerves in the back and decrease pain in the back and legs.
Facet/Medial Nerve Block
A medial branch nerve block is a type of spinal injection to the facet joints. Facet joints are pairs of small joints between the vertebrae in the spine. This type of injection is intended to relieve back pain caused by inflammation.
Facial Nerve Block
Injections in different nerve branches of the face to help relieve facial pain.
Femoral Nerve Block
Injection in the groin region to reduce pain from the femoral nerve.
Intercostal Nerve Block
Injection in the intercostal nerves, located under each rib, for pain that occurs after surgery, shingles or other injuries to the ribs.
Intrathecal Morphine and Baclofen Pumps
Implantable medical devices for cancer-related pain, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis or other spasticity diseases. The implantable Medtronic pump allows for pain control or spasticity control.
Injection into a specific joint for the purpose of decreasing pain and inflammation. Joints considered for injections are shoulder, elbow, knee and hip.
A minor surgical procedure to stabilize a vertebrae fracture in the back.
Minimally Invasive Lumbar Decompression
Decompression is a surgical procedure performed to reduce pain caused by pinched nerves. Lumbar decompression seeks to reduce back pain from spinal stenosis by removing a small portion of bone or disc material and making more room for the nerve root.
Occipital Nerve Block
Injection in the occipital nerve region (back of the head, above the neck) designed to relieve pain most often associated with headaches.
A procedure in which special needles are used to create lesions along selected nerves and heat the nerves. Applying heat makes the nerve stop carrying pain signals to the brain. This injection is for back pain and builds on the facet injections to give longer relief to the patient.
Sacroiliac Joint Injection
An injection in the sacroiliac joints located at the bottom of the spine on each side of the sacrum. This procedure helps with low back pain.
Sciatic Nerve Block
Injection into the buttocks region to help with leg pain caused by sciatica. A compressed sciatic nerve can cause pain, tingling, numbness and weakness, collectively referred to as sciatica.
Selective Nerve Block
An injection targeted at one specific nerve root along the spine. This procedure is used to diagnose the source of nerve root pain and also for therapeutic relief of low back pain or leg pain.
Spinal Cord Stimulation
A small medical device implanted near the spine that uses electrical pulses to interfere with pain messages reaching the brain. This can be used for diabetic neuropathy, facial pain, low back, leg and arm pain.
Stellate Ganglion Block
An injection into the neck to help with complex regional pain syndrome, facial pain and upper extremity (arm) pain.
Injection designed to lubricate the knee joint and reduce chronic knee pain from arthritis. Injections are available every six months.
Trigger Point Injection
An injection placed in the muscle and ligaments of the body to relieve pain. Trigger points are knots of muscle that form when muscles do not relax.
